Some people may be looking at paying down debt, cutting corners during holiday shopping or bolstering their savings to prepare. Although inflation has been trending lower since midsummer it is still a fight. There are likely to be at least a few more rate increases in the coming months.

One of the first to predict the 2008 recession is sounding alarm bells about a new economic downturn. Even if the global economy technically skirts a downturn, the effects could still feel like a recession, according to International Monetary Fund managing director Kristalina Georgieva. Dimon warned investors about impending economic volatility and market volatility back in May. What is Highland Indiana’s Top Tourist Attraction?

Highland, Indiana is a great place to visit if you plan a trip. These attractions include Hoosier Prairie State Nature Preserve and Old Ben – World’s Largest Steer.

What is the number 1 tourist attraction in Highland Indiana

Hoosier Prairie State Nature Preserve

Irene Ross, one of the most prominent forces fighting for Hoosier Prairie’s survival, was there when it was under threat. In 1972, she began her campaign. Together with her colleagues, she lobbyed the federal and state governments to acquire the prairie for a nature preserve.  The Hoosier Prairie Committee launched a publicity campaign. It also sought support from elected representatives and local municipalities.

Hoosier Prairie was a barren wasteland at that time. The area was once home to oak savannas. However, these were destroyed as part of expansion of crude oil storage tanks.

The committee began by issuing a press release. It also held a town hall meeting. Local newspapers picked up the story and began to support it. They started to speak to dozens of organizations, including the Izaak Walton League, and the Audubon Society.

Irene joined The Nature Conservancy quickly. Patrick Noonan, president of The Nature Conservancy’s national organization, was her contact. He encouraged Irene to name the prairie “Hoosier Prairie.”

The Hoosier Prairie Committee raised money for their campaign. They used local media, such as the Indianapolis Star magazine, to promote the importance of the preserve. The committee also lobbied congressmen.

The committee won the support and endorsement of all Indiana Congressmen. The committee’s efforts led to the creation of a National Natural Landmark for the Prairie, which was named after the prairie. In 1977, the Hoosier Prairie State Nature Preserve became a National Landmark.

The Department of Natural Resources continues to increase ecological diversity in the preserve. It is home for 350 plant species including rare prairie and rare species.

Hoosier Prairie, a protected land unit in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, is located. The lakeshore includes 2,000 acres of state park.

Old Ben – World’s Largest Steer & Giant Sycamore Stump

Old Ben – World’s Largest Steer & Giant Sycamore Stump – is a landmark in Kokomo. The story of this massive steer began in 1902.  He weighed 125 pounds at his time of birth but quickly grew to more than two tons by the age of four.

Old Ben was a registered Hereford bull, purebred and registered. In fact, he was so big, he was exhibited at fairs and festivals. The Murphys, his owners, declined offers from sideshows and circuses.

Old Ben’s most important moment in his life happened when he was only one week old. He fell on his leg and broke it. He was a gifted prodigy and lived to eight years.

Old Ben gained worldwide recognition during World War II. His image was shared with American GIs. It was also featured on postcards sent out to servicemen around world.

Although Ben’s story is short, his large frame made him a local celebrity. As a result, he was displayed at fairs and festivals for several years.

Old Ben gained fame when he appeared on Ripley’s Believe it or Not television program. The impressive stuffed hide of the steer was featured in newspapers and magazines all over the country.

Eventually, Old Ben was donated to the city of Kokomo. In 1989, Old Ben was placed in a glass-enclosed pavilion. Today, he is on display at the park.

Visitors can tour the park’s visitor center to view the giant sycamore stump. This stump measures more than 50 feet in circumference, and 18 feet wide. It is the largest of its kind in the world.

Community Veterans Memorial

Highland’s top tourist attraction is the Community Veterans Memorial. This park is 6.5 acres in size and contains bronze sculptures and monuments. There is also a gift shop and a museum.

Don’t miss the Kirkendall Interpretive Natural Center while you’re there. You will find tanks filled with native Indiana animals, a diorama featuring taxidermy animals and a large playground. The mascot hall is also worth a visit.

Apart from the obvious, it is a beautiful tribute to our veterans. It is open every day and free to the public. A donation can be made in memory of a veteran. Your contributions ensure that the worthwhile effort continues to be maintained and beautified.

There are many bronze statues and monuments to see. But you can also visit the historical pathway to learn about the park’s rich history. In addition, there are several outdoor lounges, cornhole games, and concrete ping pong tables.

A statue of Gary, which is among the largest in the country, can be found here. Also, a monument measuring 40 feet tall that was a huge hit during Gary’s centennial celebrations. The memorial offers a peaceful respite from the bustle of the city.

The Community Veterans Memorial isn’t the only monument that honors Highland’s heroes, but it is worthy. Donations are appreciated and the Memorial is tax-exempt.

Major renovations are underway at the Park to reflect its success. The remaining site will soon be home of Championship Park, a complex that provides jobs and entertainment for the residents.

Moreover, there is a well-marked, self-guided walking tour that tells the tale of the park’s origins and the aforementioned history trail.

Texas Silver and Precious Metals: Should You Buy It, Invest in It or Hold It?Texas Silver and Precious Metals: Should You Buy It, Invest in It or Hold It?

Silver is an extremely rare metal that is valuable for making ornaments, silverware, and other fine art objects. Silver has been used for medicinal purposes, and is not tarnished by other chemicals or oxidizing agents. Some people think that silver is valuable because it conducts heat and conducts electricity well, and it is very well suited for manufacturing electronic devices. Silver is a material commonly used to manufacture medical, electronic and technology products.

Many people have been buying silver because it is cheap, and many companies promote silver as an investment.

More realistically, you can compare where to buy gold bars to an insurance policy. Investments in silver and other precious metals are assumed to generate income; they are considered to expire. Silver and precious metals may not be ways to produce wealth, but rather they are assets that contain wealth that you can later use to invest in your retirement plans. If you own silver, gold, platinum, or any other precious metal, you are not really creating wealth; you are simply storing it as a currency hedge. Although silver prices have increased to the point that they are now worth $80 an ounce, this does not mean that silver owners will be ten times more wealth than before. Silver’s value in real dollars is dependent upon the value of various other precious metals. When silver prices double while other assets such as cars, houses, food, stocks, etc., also go up in value, you will still have plenty to buy things.

One’s motivation to troy ounce silver bar is largely dependent on what someone could see themselves using it for, and also their risk tolerance. If someone is ready to put savings into their retirement account, or hedge against a currency, gold is typically the better option. More speculative investors prefer silver for what they believe to be better upside protential. Survivalists who foresee an imminent reckoning use silver for bartering in small amounts. Also, some gold and silver products like the U.S. Mint American Gold Eagle and American Silver Eagle are eligible for inclusion in IRAs.

In both good and bad economies, people have also added silver to their portfolios for diversification. When the economy is shaky, investors use silver bullion bars for wealth preservation. It is cheaper to invest in silver than to buy gold, because it is easier to buy small amounts of silver and have them build up over time.

What Does Silver Come From?

Silver is number 47 in the periodic table of elements, and its symbol is “Ag” for the Latin word for silver, “Argentum”. The English ”Silver” is derlived from the Anglo-Scandinavian word for silver, “siolfur”. Silver began to be mined in Asia around 3,000 BC. Old maps of silver deposits date to roughly 500 BC. 2500 years ago, the ancient civilization in what is now Turkey developed a very fine process to make silver from lead-silver ores. Silver coinage dates from about 550 BC, but silver coinage dates back much earlier, in the period when coins became available.

Silver is the second-most valuable precious metal, after gold; a gold rush in 1821 led to the discovery that silver was found in the Americas. Spanish investors forced native peoples to mine silver for a large profit. The result was that Bolivia, Peru, and Mexico produced 85 percent of all silver produced and traded worldwide between 1500 and 1800.

Over 750 million troy ounces of silver are mined every year.

Most silver is extracted by stripping lead from old silver mines in order to extract silver. Galena, a sulfide mineral of lead that may contain silver, has been used in ancient civilizations as a reliable way to store money. It is not unusual for silver to be more valuable than lead, because it is far more valuable than lead. Silver mining is difficult and often dangerous because lead is incredibly toxic. Those who worked as slaves in South America to mine up to 100,000 tons of silver per year died of lead poisoning in less than two years.

Because pure silver is often enriched with precious metals such as gold, lead, or copper, miners often turn to a different mine to produce other valuable mineral ore. The process by which silver is melted down by a furnace extracting silver from the ores.

Where Should You Buy Silver Bullion?

Silver can be purchased in many different forms, as long as the buyer can pay the right price for it.

Silver Bullion: Silver that is 99.9% pure or better.

Governmental Coins: Governmental mint coins that are minted from silver.

Silver rounds are coin shaped silver bullion that are produced by private mints; they are not legal tender as they are not produced by a government mint.

When buying silver, keep in mind that minted silver bars are more costly than stamped silver bars and that the process of producing them causes them to be more valuable. Some silver money buyers decide to buy bullion bars in order to quickly get their money back in the event of a crash in the stock market or when a disaster happens to the world economy. It would be very hard to exchange large bars of silver in the event of a stock market crash or other economic disaster; it would be much more costly to trade them.

What does Silver sell for on the open market?

You pay for silver based on the spot price, as it trades for on global commodity exchanges, plus a premium. Silver bullion costs about $700 to $1,350 per ounce depending on its spot price and its bullion premium. Premiums for silver bullion are dependent on different tax rates and costs associated with the minting, packaging, and marketing of the product. There are many factors that affect the price of silver, if any, that is, the amount of silver mined, the people who mine it, and other factors that affect the price.

Because silver is a scarce commodity, people need to continually replenish it in order to obtain the resources that they need.

It is difficult to predict silver’s future value based on current global monetary and interest rate markets and other factors, but silver is increasingly valuable due to its intrinsic value and its inherent ability to conduct a safe, stable investment strategy, and its accessibility at where to buy silver bars in 77058.

Premiums are what are charged to buyers for silver bullion that is sold above its spot price.

Silver has been in demand for consumer electronics due to its conductivity. Likewise, medical instrument manufacturers demand continually higher quantities of silver for use in the manufacturing of surgical instruments.

Accessing credit markets may become more difficult. Banks might be reluctant to lend money because of concerns about default rates. This may sound like good news for economic growth, but it’s important that you remember that prices are still increasing — they just aren’t growing at the same rate as last spring and summer. This could indicate that both Fed’s rate rises and overall improvement of the supply chain are beginning to bring down inflation.
